Parties Involved:

• Client: The entity or individual commissioning the creation of 5 songs in the Kumauni language.
• Songwriter/Composer: The individual or agency responsible for writing and composing the songs in Kumauni.

Budget:

₹2,000 per song (Total ₹10,000 for 5 songs, inclusive of all applicable taxes).

Scope of Work:

The songwriter/composer will write and compose 5 original songs in the Kumauni language, focusing on themes that resonate with the cultural and emotional richness of the Kumaun region. These songs will be produced with a blend of traditional and contemporary musical elements to appeal to both local and modern audiences.

1. Song Themes:

   • The songs will cover a variety of themes relevant to the Kumauni community, including but not limited to:
     • Folk Stories and Traditions: Highlighting the rich heritage of the region.
     • Nature and Mountains: Celebrating the natural beauty of Uttarakhand and the reverence for mountains and rivers.
     • Love and Relationships: Songs expressing the deep emotional connections found in everyday Kumauni life.
     • Social Issues and Empowerment: Addressing contemporary social challenges and hopes for the future.
     • Festivals and Celebrations: Traditional songs that capture the essence of Kumauni festivals and rituals.

2. Songwriting Process:

   • Lyrics Writing: The songwriter will create meaningful, poetic lyrics in the Kumauni language. Each song will consist of verse, chorus, and bridge sections, ensuring the structure is suitable for both listening and performance.
   • Composition and Arrangement: The songwriter will compose the melody and harmonies, integrating local musical instruments like the dhol, damau, and flute with modern instruments where appropriate.
   • Feedback and Revisions: The client will be allowed to provide feedback on the lyrics and melody. Any necessary revisions will be made based on the feedback received, ensuring the final product meets the client’s expectations.

3. Delivery and Formats:

   • Written Lyrics: The final lyrics for each song will be delivered in a Word document format.
   • Audio Composition: If agreed upon, the composer will provide an audio demo for each song in a basic format (e.g., a piano or guitar version of the song).
   • Final Composition (Optional): If the contract specifies, the songwriter may assist with the final recording or orchestration for a fully produced version of the songs (additional costs may apply).

4. Timeline:
   The songwriter will complete the 5 songs within 4 weeks from the date of the contract signing, broken down as follows:

   • Week 1: Delivery of the first song (lyrics and melody).
   • Week 2: Delivery of the second and third songs.
   • Week 3: Delivery of the fourth song and final revisions for the previous songs.
   • Week 4: Delivery of the fifth song and final revisions, if any.

5. Payment Terms:

   • 20% advance payment upon signing the contract (₹4,000).
   • 40% after delivery of the first 3 songs (₹4,000).
   • 40% upon completion and final approval of all 5 songs (₹4,000).

6. Rights and Ownership:

   • Upon receiving full payment, the client will hold exclusive ownership rights to the lyrics and compositions of all 5 songs.
   • The songwriter retains the right to use the songs in their portfolio or for promotional purposes but must obtain written consent from the client for any commercial use (such as selling or distributing the songs).

7. Termination Clause:
   In case either party wishes to terminate the contract:

• A 15-day written notice is required.
• If terminated after the completion of some work (e.g., after delivery of lyrics or songs), the client will compensate the songwriter for the work already completed.

8. Confidentiality Clause:
   The songwriter agrees to keep the lyrics, melodies, and any other project details confidential until the songs are publicly released. Any breach of this confidentiality agreement will result in legal action.
